Family Support Worker

Grade 7, Scale Points 19 – 22 (Actual Salary: £35,814pa)

FTE £36,888 - £39,816

41 hours per week, Term Time, plus 1 week Holiday hours, plus 3 Professional Learning Days (39.6 weeks per year)

Monday to Wednesday – 8:00am to 5.00pm

Thursday – 8.00am - 4.30pm

Friday – 8:00am – 4pm (with 30mins lunch daily)

Plus 2 hours per week to be worked flexibly, as required by the department

We are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker to join our passionate and progressive Inclusion Team, to work in conjunction with the senior leadership team to improve the attendance and engagement of targeted students by providing focused practical and emotional support to those with students and families with complex needs.

 We are looking to appoint a positive and enthusiastic person to join our highly supportive and growing team, who wants to work in a school where:

The Family Support Worker role involves building trusting professional relationships with the hardest to reach students and targeted families in order for them to overcome any challenges they face and with a view to re-engaging them with their education and break down barriers to attendance, engagement and to empower parents to support students at home and by maintaining contact with the most vulnerable students during non-term time; make phone calls, check ins, drop ins, home visits as necessary. The successful candidate should be able to engage, motivate and support children, staff and parents.

Successful applicants are subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check and satisfactory employment references.
