Meet our people

Why Work for TMET

The Mead Educational Trust (TMET) is a growing partnership of 13 schools (eight primary and five secondary) in Leicester and Leicestershire.

We believe that together we make a positive difference – to the life chances of our children, to our communities and to each other.

Many organisations say that their staff are their greatest asset; at TMET we truly believe it. The success of our schools and our Trust depends on the quality of our staff, and we know how important it is to retain and develop good people.

All staff have access to training, qualifications, secondments and progression routes. Many staff who join us as teaching assistants and in support roles progress to become teachers and senior leaders.

The Mead Institute for Professional Learning is the training hub for all our staff. It encompasses the Leicester and Leicestershire SCITT and the Leicester and Leicestershire Teaching School Hub and offers teacher training, professional qualifications (NPQs) and other CPD for teachers and support staff.

Every Mead school has its own character and ethos, grown out of its own history and the community it serves, but we also work closely together to share ideas, expertise, resources and central support. We value cross phase work, and our primary and secondary schools support and learn from each other.

While our schools have common values and core operational systems, these are adapted locally for individual contexts and needs.

We aim to make sure that every Mead employee has a great work environment; that they enjoy coming to work and know that they are making a positive difference.
